Every Sunday during the summer months we have a basic Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) class that meets on the grassy area at the corner of Capital Street NE and D Street. This class teaches basic stretching and warm up routines and the steps for the 24 short Yang Taijiquan form. Each week we will teach a few steps and how to transition between the new steps and the steps learned the previous week. If you miss a class, don't worry most every class will be taught at least twice before the summer is out.
There is no cost for this class, it is purely for better health and balance, not for profit. Proper attire is loose fitting clothing and comfortable shoes, ideally flat soled shoes. While we will show you the martial applications of each movement this is not intended to be a class for combat or self defense.
