What is Orthopedic Acupuncture?
Orthopedic Acupuncture is a style of Acupuncture that goes beyond the practice found in most American Acupuncture clinics. For one, it will most likely not be terribly relaxing. It is also not appropriate for many conditions that do not center around physical pain. What it is though is the best Acupuncture approach for musculoskeletal pain and injury.
Orthopedic Acupuncture looks at the body through two lenses. The first is the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which has been explained many places on our website. The second lens is the western anatomical lens. This is looking at the muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones and nerves that contribute to musculoskeletal pain and injury. By combining these two distinct approaches we are able to address these pain conditions in a very efficient and effective manner.
